When I was about 8 years old, I found an ecstatic desire to blast my favorite part of a song, over and over, on my bedroom speakers. By doing this, I also created the worst earworm for myself on the next day of school, every time... But I could never grow tired of the music. What can I say—I’m a sucker for carefully created sonics.

Shortly after that time period, Vine popularized perfect loops, which inspired me to splice more of my own. Since then, I have created many loops out of favorite music that I draw to. This site contains a selection of them.

Loops are nothing special; they are both a practice tool and construction piece for a musician. They define genres, so on and so forth. But for me, they are a way to park on a certain emotion while I work or when I dabble. For many people, that concept wouldn’t work at all, and probably would drive them mad...

Maybe loops are just the echoes I’ve chosen to keep. Or perhaps they’re how I make sense of the noise.
